| March 17, 2009 | St. Patrick's Day report: At the risk of offending our Irish compatriots this report will not begin with the same first sentence as many authentically Irish St. Paddy's reports (e.g., "Among the injured were..."). No, our experience was far less painful yet excellent nonetheless. The band split into two groups to satisfy the tremendous demand for our masterful entertainment. Tod "Mugsy" McKay managed the marketing for this year's gigs, resulting in a nice return on our investment. At least one member of our group garnered an unsolicited phone number from a member of the opposite sex (not that there's anything wrong with that!), and multiple members received lots of cash tips stuck into socks and garters. Combined with the generous payment from the following establishments, the band gathered enough cash to keep it in business for at least two or three more months: Old Chicago (both at the mall and downtown), Bardenay (Eagle), Busters on Broadway, Barbacoa, Table Rock Brewpub, the VFW Hall on Chinden, and the Falcon Tavern. It was a long night of playing, but a good time was had by all. Check the Gallery later for pictures.
